Coping with Teens-- a Journey to having teens

It was years ago when I posted an article on coping up with being a working mom to 3 active kids, it’s somewhat tiring and fulfilling at the same time. My world turns into this big circle of change when bath time is no longer privacy and eating is somewhat chaotic yet enjoyable one.  Our family has expanded as time goes by, and this time,  I cannot believe, I’ll be starting into a phase of looking after my teens.

I never thought that having teens is more scarier than newly born, Every day is a total adjustment for me, if possible I have to look into my check list on how I can assist/support them into this new phase of their lives, from their hygiene rituals in the morning (deodorant, toothbrush, sunblock…etc)  till night, I, slowly discovered myself becoming more and more a panic mom and a natural stalker to my kids. (lols)

Every night, I slept with fear in my mind, they grew up so fast and I’m not prepared for it, they started to tell me stories about crushes, about friends, future plans and so much more, I do love listening to them even if sometimes I have to pretend that its interesting (hahahah)  and I feel that I have become lesser part of their routine and future… or maybe, I’m just over thinking or so…. Is this really the feeling of getting old and having teens????  It’s frustrating at times when they already conscious about how they look and how they feel uncomfortable going into the park when it used to be their favourite place, they now enjoy cinema, quite restaurant, gadgets and books, all of it are just really fine and quite…. Maybe I just missed having three active kids running around the house or giggle in enjoyment when we plan for weekend in the park.

So, everything is quite new to me… I’m coping and adjusting…  maybe kids of this generation are very different that my generation, when I was twelve I still enjoy playing, climbing trees, running in the busy street  enjoying every moment being youth which was taken away from this generation. But this generation is very smart, matured and they really know what they want and how to get it.

Being a parent, a mom particularly is a lifetime study of life, changes and love. It’s not selfish questing your role into their lives but we have to be in the place where they can breathe and grow freely because that’s what parents are here for, to guide, to support , to lead them into the path where they can be the best version of themselves and  loving them unconditionally to the fullest extent.

Shout out to all the moms out there of same situation, will get thru this!! And let’s enjoy every moment of it!!

Love lots,
