Kite Flying on the Weekend..Super Fun

On a typical FRIDAY after I officially open a small shop located in Hawally, I usually stay home or go out for breakfast with the family. Since I feel committed to completing all chores at home, I immediately go home.

I was overly stressed the previous days, and woke up on Friday just wanting to get out and breathe. My kids are also in need of some fresh space to explore and refresh their minds after exams and studies.

So early Friday morning, we bought some Filipino pack foods and headed to BNEIDAR to watch kite flying. It's in the middle of a desert, has no fees or anything like that. Just drive there, park your car, and have fun.

A super fun and inexpensive way to relax, eat, and enjoy the place over the weekend.

Kite Flying held every FRIDAY from 11:00NN till 5 pm

Horses and Yoga-- WEEKEND Thing to do

As someone who has worked in the equestrian industry for years, I have learned a lot about horses. They are loving, lovable, and gentle creatures. Although I cannot afford to own one, being a part of an industry where I can be of service to these beautiful creatures is more than enough for me!

It seems like a pretty interesting activity when I see it on my Instagram feed

French Press Coffee Tumbler! LOVE it!

this time with milk (hehehhe)

Despite my love of coffee, I'm not the classy one. I can drink anything, even instant, as long as it's coffee. However, when my brother was suddenly hooked into the world of coffee, he became so obsessed that he started collecting things related to BREWED coffee. I was one of the lucky ones to benefit from his passion for coffee. Whenever he buys something new, he makes it a point to send me one to try, and it's been wonderful! The only problem was that I began to love brewed coffee. As I sought out that distinct aroma and taste of roasted coffee beans, instant coffee quickly became tasteless to me.

This is the product that makes all the difference. Everyday, this is my "go-to" cup! Making it very convenient for me to have a sip of fresh brewed coffee anytime and anywhere! Thank GOD for my Brother for gifting me this and for a bunch of coffee branded packs!! I'm blessed!!

Opening my small Shop with less than 500KD budget!!!! challenge Accepted!!

Opening a business in Kuwait is really stressful and expensive, you have to be mentally, physically and most specially financially prepared,  though, I honestly not well prepared to start but I just felt that, I have to start somewhere, My budget is really tight as I have no partner/s to share the burdens, so I have to make things work to my advantage with a very limited resources and connections.

Having said that, Not everyone can start a legal business in Kuwait, but anyone can be an entrepreneur, it’s my dream one day to own a company and create a name for myself, such dream is almost impossible to achieve especially with my expat status in a country where everything is complicated,

It took me years to finally open my small gift shop , and Oh my GAWD!! the amount of stress and difficulties is almost unbearable!!  I thought, that getting the business license approved is all there is to do but that is just the beginning there’s more to it, the manpower license, signatory documents, bank opening, Kuwait chamber of commerce and the list goes on and on, every move needs money 😕😕(lots of it!!) and personally working into all these task makes me realized how hard it is to be MANDOOP, it's tough!! lots of paperworks, running, talking and rejections,  it's crazzzyyyyyy!!! kudos to our all the good mandoops out there!!!

So moving forward,  In many challenges I've came across to have this business up and running, it is the shop interiors, POS system and related things that boost so much of my creativity, Imagine!!, having less than 500KD for shop interiors, decorations and POS system, I need a miracle to pull things together in 7 days,  and glad I made it!!

so I'm sharing the journey, the how's of opening my physical shop with less than 500KD budget on the interiors and the POS system,

Well, It's not too fancy nor extravagant design just presentable enough to welcome the customers on the initial opening, I'm sure in months to come I will upgrade and do more beautification, but for now, I'm more than happy with the way things are and I will always cherish the experience and how I made it thru!

EGYPTIAN SEAFOOD RESTO : ZEPHERE Salmiya

A VISIT to ZEPHERE: EGYPTIAN SEAFOOD RESTO

This is not my first visit to this place, but my family kept coming back because we love the food, from the time we had our first meal till now, it becomes our drop-by place whenever we are in occasion and crave for Egyptian seafood cuisine then this is the place we always thought of.

Over the years, service is still the same and I applaud the service team for doing a good job, but I think, the resto needs few repairs/restorations and I guess, proper area to dispose trash- just few of things I've noticed.. other than that, everything is good!!

TOPIC: JOHNNY DEPP vs AMBER HEARD : and the GOSSIP GROUP

Oh well,  people in the internet go gaga on the" reality show" of the year Johnny Depp Vs. Amber heard trial, I’m not saying I’m obsess  but  my everyday feeds on all my social media platforms are soo Johnny and Amber hype,  I can’t help but to take a glance of it and get into the trend,

In Philippines we have this name for women/mom/anyone who likes to gossip :" MARITES"  I am actually part of a whattsap Asian group in the company  name:  DAILY MARITES GROUP in that group we gossip about so many things in and out of the company,  its funny how professional everyone in the group getting all the juicy news and gossip at work and international, as what they say, office is not fun at all without gossip group, so  this AMBER – JOHNNY thing came across as topic in the group and I was bursting with so much laughter  because the men in the group are now proving their point that WOMEN  can also be an abuser for a good men like them, I can only laugh because they literally live for it, they feel that JOHNNY represent them , I picture how they were bullied by their wives  and how it is at home!!! Hahahahahhah……

but honestly, I congratulate JOHNNY DEPP to finally voice the truth and win his case,  I remember watching him on the stand take in every word he said with sincerity,  I am a fan and will always be!!

Congrats JOHNNY!!!! Can’t wait to see more of your movies!!!

Coping with Teens-- a Journey to having teens

It was years ago when I posted an article on coping up with being a working mom to 3 active kids, it’s somewhat tiring and fulfilling at the same time. My world turns into this big circle of change when bath time is no longer privacy and eating is somewhat chaotic yet enjoyable one.  Our family has expanded as time goes by, and this time,  I cannot believe, I’ll be starting into a phase of looking after my teens.

I never thought that having teens is more scarier than newly born, Every day is a total adjustment for me, if possible I have to look into my check list on how I can assist/support them into this new phase of their lives, from their hygiene rituals in the morning (deodorant, toothbrush, sunblock…etc)  till night, I, slowly discovered myself becoming more and more a panic mom and a natural stalker to my kids. (lols)

Every night, I slept with fear in my mind, they grew up so fast and I’m not prepared for it, they started to tell me stories about crushes, about friends, future plans and so much more, I do love listening to them even if sometimes I have to pretend that its interesting (hahahah)  and I feel that I have become lesser part of their routine and future… or maybe, I’m just over thinking or so…. Is this really the feeling of getting old and having teens????  It’s frustrating at times when they already conscious about how they look and how they feel uncomfortable going into the park when it used to be their favourite place, they now enjoy cinema, quite restaurant, gadgets and books, all of it are just really fine and quite…. Maybe I just missed having three active kids running around the house or giggle in enjoyment when we plan for weekend in the park.

So, everything is quite new to me… I’m coping and adjusting…  maybe kids of this generation are very different that my generation, when I was twelve I still enjoy playing, climbing trees, running in the busy street  enjoying every moment being youth which was taken away from this generation. But this generation is very smart, matured and they really know what they want and how to get it.

Being a parent, a mom particularly is a lifetime study of life, changes and love. It’s not selfish questing your role into their lives but we have to be in the place where they can breathe and grow freely because that’s what parents are here for, to guide, to support , to lead them into the path where they can be the best version of themselves and  loving them unconditionally to the fullest extent.

Shout out to all the moms out there of same situation, will get thru this!! And let’s enjoy every moment of it!!

Love lots,
Wisemummy81

Events : local Events in Kuwait

As summer slowly gets out of the atmosphere, more and more events coming for us to enjoy!!

Whats on JACC-KW Events

I always remember my very first experience of opera show: The King & I,

I was speechless the entire time, it's very different when there is that live connection with the performers, you can see them perform in upfront & up-close every moment, breath and sound is surreal.

Opera, Cultural & Broadway shows are not as common as movies in Kuwait but it is one of I guess the revered form of social experience,  it is something that we all should experience in our lives.

Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center has made all things possible to have all great shows and operas in Kuwait, check out their latest events.

you can book tickets thru their website JACC-KW

Apps Every parents should Know

In this digital age, our role as parents extended not only to provide our children with a good shelter, safe environment, and good education but also to keep them safe from both the physical and digital world, let's face it!  not all of us are good enough when it comes to latest apps, social media and has the ability to keep track our kids' web activities we can simply rely on our instincts and create that open communication for them to trust us.

It is important as a parent that we are particularly aware of many things happening in the digital world where these generations are fond of and have become part of their social activities.
