Coping with Teens-- a Journey to having teens

It was years ago when I posted an article on coping up with being a working mom to 3 active kids, it’s somewhat tiring and fulfilling at the same time. My world turns into this big circle of change when bath time is no longer privacy and eating is somewhat chaotic yet enjoyable one.  Our family has expanded as time goes by, and this time,  I cannot believe, I’ll be starting into a phase of looking after my teens.

I never thought that having teens is more scarier than newly born, Every day is a total adjustment for me, if possible I have to look into my check list on how I can assist/support them into this new phase of their lives, from their hygiene rituals in the morning (deodorant, toothbrush, sunblock…etc)  till night, I, slowly discovered myself becoming more and more a panic mom and a natural stalker to my kids. (lols)

Every night, I slept with fear in my mind, they grew up so fast and I’m not prepared for it, they started to tell me stories about crushes, about friends, future plans and so much more, I do love listening to them even if sometimes I have to pretend that its interesting (hahahah)  and I feel that I have become lesser part of their routine and future… or maybe, I’m just over thinking or so…. Is this really the feeling of getting old and having teens????  It’s frustrating at times when they already conscious about how they look and how they feel uncomfortable going into the park when it used to be their favourite place, they now enjoy cinema, quite restaurant, gadgets and books, all of it are just really fine and quite…. Maybe I just missed having three active kids running around the house or giggle in enjoyment when we plan for weekend in the park.

So, everything is quite new to me… I’m coping and adjusting…  maybe kids of this generation are very different that my generation, when I was twelve I still enjoy playing, climbing trees, running in the busy street  enjoying every moment being youth which was taken away from this generation. But this generation is very smart, matured and they really know what they want and how to get it.

Being a parent, a mom particularly is a lifetime study of life, changes and love. It’s not selfish questing your role into their lives but we have to be in the place where they can breathe and grow freely because that’s what parents are here for, to guide, to support , to lead them into the path where they can be the best version of themselves and  loving them unconditionally to the fullest extent.

Shout out to all the moms out there of same situation, will get thru this!! And let’s enjoy every moment of it!!

Love lots,

Apps Every parents should Know

In this digital age, our role as parents extended not only to provide our children with a good shelter, safe environment, and good education but also to keep them safe from both the physical and digital world, let's face it!  not all of us are good enough when it comes to latest apps, social media and has the ability to keep track our kids' web activities we can simply rely on our instincts and create that open communication for them to trust us.

It is important as a parent that we are particularly aware of many things happening in the digital world where these generations are fond of and have become part of their social activities.

Passion and Creativity--- Take time with your Kids

When you have  kids in different stages of primary school (like for me) I have Grade 1, 4 and 6, imagine my everyday struggles to maintain the equality of time with my kids,  it's like going back to school  only this time I have to actually review, comprehend and study hard so I won't get that bad reviews from my kids... my kids are my most absolute life's critic, So I always ensure to have that thumbs up from them in whatever I do.

Also, I really don't know where do kids these days get so smart and intelligent that I feel the older they get the more I become obsolete in many things, I'm a computer science graduate, that's a clear 4 years of sweat and hard work in school, but my kids are able to do codings and 3d games in just a snap!! they can navigate mainframe without proper training my GAWD!!!!! it's 4 years of college VS an hour of google and youtube and whalllah!!  it blows my mind!!

Anyway, even at their advantage, I always win their approvals when it comes to creative projects, I feel that I am able to express myself and love for my kids whether for school, events and normal creative days.  I super love working with colors and its a great way to share that creative passion with kids and know that by doing so, I have created an intimate bond and I'm always looking forward to more bonding moments with my kids.

I strongly believe that parents, should invest more of their time to their kids than work, we have many reasons why we work so hard but nothing worth every second of our time that being with kids and family. we are not getting any younger, everyday is an oppotunity to things right and bright.

Take time to be with your kids!!

Artspace Kuwait

Perhaps, I can never be an artist like many of my friends but I always like to be in a place surrounded by arts, brushes, boards, water colors, paints and anything alike makes me feel like I belong, hehehehe….. it allows me to absorb that positivity from these artistic people, their vibes and the emotions they put into their creations!!  It’s relaxing

It’s incredible how a simple art can make plenty of emotions, not everyone is gifted with the talent to create something worthy to be appreciated by many, however, we as human being is already an art, we are created in his image and likeness and that gives us the right to become the ultimate master piece of our creator.

we visited ARTSPACE yesterday with my kids and we truly love the place, the interior is beautifully design and every corner is artistically organize, totally a place for art and people who just want to hang out and appreciate art.

It is located in Salmiya, 2nd floor of galleria2000 mall…
