TRAP in the CORPORATE WORLD

Before I start let me ask you these questions:

1.) How many year you've been working in your current company?

2.)  Are you happy where you are right now??

3.) Is the work you're currently in,  provide you all the learnings and support to grow and take higher position?

4.) Would you stay on the same company in the next 5 years??

5.)  Do you feel confident/happy/excited going to work everyday??

The above are common questions facilitating your current working status, the more honest you are the more you will have a clear vision as to where you are right now,

Ever thought of QUITING, STOP and JUST LIVE?? it's hard right???

Living in this world has molded us to work for better life (in general)  till we finally say, it's ENOUGH and READY to REST, but even at our hardest days and pain we keep going, why?? because we are designed to be that way, to live, to provide, to survive, to live up to the lifestyle, to earn better and get more money, its a promise, a corporate world can give and provide in exchange for our time, blood and intellect.

We are a big part of this corporate simulation, a big grinding world that has the ability to take all our energy and soul we voluntarily gave, it is our sweat that keeps this world alive yet such world can easily paralyze us if we have nothing more to offer, THEY can trash people easily regardless of their loyalty, they give you heaven when you still have the ability to make it, and CRUEL when you have nothing more to give.  that's how corporate world works.  its a world where anyone can be slave and powerful at many levels.

While most of us are blinded in the four walls of the corporate matrix, there are few who already awakened, these are people who already understand how the matrix works and open their eyes in the world navigated by the powerful entities, they are able to work beyond the matrix and stay in the matrix whenever they want, THEY control their LIVES and use the MATRIX and not being controlled.

the GOOD news is!! Everyone is capable to be awakened!! just FOCUS on yourself!! look at yourself as the full resources you need to make things possible.

KNOW your worth and value yourself more than anything else, FEAR is an illusion, never ever!! underestimate the GIFT that GOD has given us WE ARE PERFECT the way WE are CREATED, GO explore Possibilities, LIVE LIFE to the FULLEST, do not be slave to work thinking that things will change someday when you can do better on SOMETHING,  I know, it easy to read but hard to do, so I leave you with this:

"YOU CAN CHANGE your SITUATION by CHANGING your MINDSET",  ask yourself everyday :  is the current work  would take me into a better version of myself and life in a long run??

KPOP Invasion-- Relating to Kids fascination with Kpop

Here goes another personal post, I’m pretty sure most of parents with teens would truly relate to this, if not, then continue reading and get a little something from this post.

I started to notice my teenage kids listening to music which is of different language, I find it strange because not a single word I understand from the entire song yet my kids are enjoying it!!  they listen to this KPOP music which is musical genre that is a mix of genres such as electronic, hip-hop, rock and R&B music and most of it is in Korean language (that’s why it’s KPOP …) ,

At first (With no exaggeration), I started to panic becoz how can my kids enjoy something they don’t understand at all.. It might be a cult or something…….

But I can tell it is really something special for them because I’ve seen their happiness just by listening to the music, they love it so much that every time they are with their friends and cousins, the whole topic is all about the KPOP all day..all night !!  And they are calling themselves as ARMIES!! (Imagine they have a code for fans)

So being the stalker and curios mom, I get to work and research about this so called Kpop and I was beyond belief how influential are these KPOP group in this generation  and even to say, to all the generations (including the generation which I belong….the secret generation lols).  I started looking into different profiles of these Kpop group (from EXo, BTS,Blackpink, Shinee, nct, boyz, super junior,2ne1, twice, red velvet, many more…..)

It appeals to me more and more knowing what kpop is all about, it’s beginning and how it is formulated into a group (the road to become an idol/ kpop artist is not easy!!) , it’s a long process and hard work, but what excite me the most is that, they have this kind of cuteness and happy image where just by watching them you forget all your worries,   they look so perfectly cute, neat and colorful, overjoyed with so much energy as they are not just cute faces they are absolutely multi-talented and physically stunning.

Moving forward…. I now understand why my kids are really into the KPOP,  this is part of the NORMS in this generation, adding to that, I found myself started to enjoy and liking their music, I’m not being biased but each and every  kpop group has their own sets of fan base and they are all amazing, everyone I know (including my kids) really loves BTS and Blackpink which are currently the most hip and famous among all, but  this KPOP group called EXO is amazingly great!! They are like a perfect combo of talents from vocal, to dancing and honestly good looking.  Their music is really good it’s a mix of old school and trendy new style with powerful vocals, (again, I’m not biased please don’t hate me armies and blinks, I’m old school…..)

I told my kids about it and they were very appreciative of my effort in getting to know their idols, but actually, I have a lot of fun doing it!! I was laughing all the way watching all Kpop videos in their funny moments and overly impressed on every Kpop performance.  And for the first time ever, I can really relate to all my kids kpop-teen-related- conversation….

And also, It’s really good to know, that the middle east has welcome this KPOP ERA into their culture, of course, social medias plays an important roles and the massive demands of live kpop performances in the world is indeed unbelievable, imagine, Saudi Arabia as one of the very conservative country in the GCC and in Dubai was able to held a concert that includes famous Kpop –BTS, EXO, and so on , in a very huge number of audience. That is to say, that KPOP is not just Kpop it is a trend that makes our teens really into it and we as parents has to be in the position where we can support our kids and hold into a certain limit. There is always a line crossing being a fan and obsession, it is important for us parents to know where our kids stand.

Children now a days, are very smart, confident, matured and tends to be always into the gadgets with very less socialization, more to say that the rate of teen suicide cases are increasing by day, so let’s be the parents that we can be for our kids, let’s enjoy Kpop the way our kids enjoy it while we nurtured them with everything they need to learn in life.

Balance is the key!

So till here, I still have to continue watching the EXO concert in japan (throwback Thursday that is!!) … drop me a mesg if you feel you need to express something from this post.
And I’ll leave you all with “who is your kpop biased?????” ( lolsss )

Till here and Love lots,

EXPAT STORY : A STALK OF BAMBOO

Struggles in a strange land are very common to us EXPATS,  I'm creating a space in this blog for writers who would like to share stories or any writings whether anonymously or with a name, I am willing to listen and perhaps coach you in life.

A Stalk of Bamboo

by : Anonymous Expat Writer in Kuwait

I have a broken finger. I’ve had it for three weeks now. I am not so sure if it is mending properly. You see, every day, I merely splint it with a stick two inches long I rummaged from our communal kitchen and patch it around with a folded tissue and a transparent scotch tape.

If I need to go out, I hold it together with a Band-Aid I bought from a pharmacy so it would look a bit fancy. For one Kuwaiti Dinar, I was able to buy sixteen pieces, although now I only have four left. If you see me walking around with a finger roughly patched in a tissue held together with a Band-Aid,

I’ll merely laugh and shrug it off as a cut and assure you with my boyish grin that it is healing quite fine.

I am afraid it is not.

I do not have the means to go to a hospital to have it checked and I do not know whom to talk to. I dare not impose anyone; we all have our own problems. I dare not even want to mention it to my mother. I am my mother’s son. She calls me from back home, checking on me, and with my boyish grin, l lie to her without batting my eyes that everything is fine even though they are not. That I have spent my last remaining dregs of Dinar to buy that band-aid and that I will be trying to budget 500 fils for a month before payday comes, and that I will, once again, merely eat that 150 fils worth of sliced bread you can buy from a Bakala for my daily meal.

We all have our reasons for lying to our loved ones. I love my mom. I do not want her to worry. I know how she worries about me here and I do not want her to worry more. It pains me so deep that sometimes I purposely do not answer her call, watching her name dance on my phone screen, waiting for her call to end and hoping she’ll just realize I might be too busy. We all have our own reasons why we try to swallow down our tears and say that everything is fine. Hoping that maybe tomorrow, or the day after, Kuwait will live up to its promise.

Insha’Allah. So they say.

Tomorrow is another day. I shall bind my broken finger once again with a tissue and a tape and smile that it is merely a cut.

Whats on JACC-KW Events

I always remember my very first experience of opera show: The King & I,

I was speechless the entire time, it's very different when there is that live connection with the performers, you can see them perform in upfront & up-close every moment, breath and sound is surreal.

Opera, Cultural & Broadway shows are not as common as movies in Kuwait but it is one of I guess the revered form of social experience,  it is something that we all should experience in our lives.

Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center has made all things possible to have all great shows and operas in Kuwait, check out their latest events.

you can book tickets thru their website JACC-KW

Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich from Hardees

I underestimated this dessert from Hardees, to be honest!! hahahahah  , I love the vanilla ice cream flavor and its consistency, I just feel that the cookies need to be more chewy and mushy  (don't yah think?! ) but overall, practically speaking, its worth a try!

Our Stay in Cornichne Hotel Kuwait

In Kuwait, it’s like a mandatory for people like myself to de-stress and be out of the comfort of our home, the summer heat held us captured in our home doing the usual sleeping, eating and gadgets, though we love to be out at night but traffic and crowds just way too tiring for me especially that I have 3 kids to look after.
Anyway going back, I started using booking.com again to check better reviews and pricing for a night stay in a hotel and found a really good promo rate at the Corniche hotel. Its location leads me to decide on choosing the place because I have work the next day the road leading to work is just nearby and Marina mall also in the opposite area- walking distance going for lunch, beach or cinema is not an issue. I must say that from the moment we stepped into the hotel, everything was great and organized!! The staffs were amazing! (Just so you know, in many occasions, we were discriminated against simply because we are Filipinos, even in faced with the same nationality)
Our suite room was cozy and clean, the beds are soft and big, they have all the necessary condiments for baths even extra blankets and towels are all available for use, the only issues are: for two bedroom suite they only have 1 bathroom and no microwave (these two are very essential for family since we have kids to feed and clean) but other than that, Everything is wonderful, we truly enjoy our stay even the rooftop swimming pool and gym is good!!
Again, thank you so much Corniche Hotel team for such an amazing service!! Surely, you'll get a wonderful review in bookings.com from me

The Wedding Dresses

I was with my family yesterday for a small birthday celebration of my brother, I don’t get much of the time to be with family because of our schedules but when there are occasions we ensure to have the time to be there, Oh Happy Brithday Brother with all my heart….

Anyway, it’s my first time to dine in Shakey’s and I must say, I love their food, I will write a separate review on that, however, on the same location, there is a wedding boutique that captured my eyes, the very moment I laid eyes on the dresses, I feel that the same emotions during my wedding day, ohhh!! Not the pressure/stressful feeling, but the feeling of being excited and happy. I super love the gown I could not resist getting inside the shop for a photo session (heheheheh) the lady in the shop is so nice to let me take few photos of the display.

I just love being there, the place was so organized and warm, I have no feelings of hesitation coming in not even knowing if the owner will allow me or not!! Shop owners discriminate sometimes especially if you are expats belong to3rd world country.  But this shop is just overwhelming with wonderful creation and a very positive vibes!! But sadly due to my mixed emotions and excitement I was not able to see the shop name so I’m posting this here for chance to show this beautiful crafted gowns to the public…

It is located on the same building of Shakey’s and Five Guys, 2nd floor in Salmiya….

Artspace Kuwait

Perhaps, I can never be an artist like many of my friends but I always like to be in a place surrounded by arts, brushes, boards, water colors, paints and anything alike makes me feel like I belong, hehehehe….. it allows me to absorb that positivity from these artistic people, their vibes and the emotions they put into their creations!!  It’s relaxing

It’s incredible how a simple art can make plenty of emotions, not everyone is gifted with the talent to create something worthy to be appreciated by many, however, we as human being is already an art, we are created in his image and likeness and that gives us the right to become the ultimate master piece of our creator.

we visited ARTSPACE yesterday with my kids and we truly love the place, the interior is beautifully design and every corner is artistically organize, totally a place for art and people who just want to hang out and appreciate art.

It is located in Salmiya, 2nd floor of galleria2000 mall…
