SHOUT OUT: Blog not or Dig in

If anyone observes I seldom post a review about restaurants though, I have several invitations to review but none of it I accept, Please don’t get me wrong, I love food and having an invitations from people who worked hard to establish a good market in the public is just overwhelming, I’m a blogger and I do not take the sign as an advantage to dig whatever there is to dig, I feel that it is much an obligation to write something nice when you are treated special on the process

I also feel that, every business specially restaurant is a labor of love, owners put their heart and mind to built that dream and I do not have the right to ruin or destroy such dream just because it doesn’t captured my taste buds or the place is just not what I expect, I see blogging in different perspective, I’m just a DOT in a paragraph, If I don’t have good things to say about the food or the resto  I rather not write anything at all ….

An e-mail to visit the place would be nice and I will be delighted to drop by the place on my own will and expense, choosing the food I want without anything in my forehead that says: WISEMUMMY81

Lol..HALF CAKE!! (nanny talk)

I have to share this…! This is not to make fun or  being rude, but I just can’t stop laughing talking to our nanny last night,

I went home late due to traffic and I was pretty hungry at that very moment, I didn’t like the food so I asked our nanny if there is anything she can serve with lesser calorie, then she walks into the kitchen and few minutes later she hand me a half burned hotcake with a butter…

I asked her with a sweet tone and smiling face:
 what is this??
Nanny: you don’t know that??, it’s half cake..
Me: half cake?? Why it is a half cake??  (starting to laugh…)
Nanny: when we go to McDonalds, you usually order half cake.. it is the same.. HALF CAKE
Me: (me laughing so hard….) it’s not a Half cake.. it’s a Half burned cake….
Nanny: what… (She laughs..!)
Me: oh sorry…! It’s Hot cake not Half cake.. shinohada!!
Nanny: ahhh HACKED Cake!!
Me: burst into tears laughing…. Can’t talk & had a painful stomach due to over laughing!! (aja!!!! )

DinnerTime is Family Time

Tonight we have ordered our all time favorite Chinese food from China lakes- salmiya branch, shrimp machunrian, Fish sweet & sour and egg rice with free noodle soup
Total dinner cost is only 5KD to be shared by family of 6 ( 3 kids + 3 adults),

We’ve been in Kuwait for the last 10 years and proud to say that from then till now we always stick to the traditional Filipino dinner set up, I as a mother, would want my kids to continue with this tradition, dinner time is a family time… it’s not about the food but the time and talks we all shared in one table, ohhhh…. By the way, The food is really great!!  so this is one simple but usual great family time!!
This is just a post to say , Have a good evening and Have a great family time!

Open Kitchen Salmiya

In order to enjoy Kuwait, you have to know and seek for a place that is convenient, comfy and cost saving, Expat will always gonna be expat in Kuwait, so what better ways to enjoy your stay is find places, stuff or people that would treats you right…

I was out with my family last weekend after a game of basketball in hawally (PABAK), we’re all exhausted and hungry,  we decided to dropped by open kitchen in salmiya it is just opposite to EUREKA where MC Donald’s and Johnny rockets is located, we parked at the convenient slot and run towards the small entrance…

It was like a year ago when I last visited the place, indeed, surprised with few changes of the surrounding; we seated  near the counter area and order our food, my kids also have their share of convenient as the place itself have indoor rides for them to enjoy,  you just need a hundred fils  oh! if you don’t have fils/coins there is a counter available to change your KD into fils and kids can enjoy every single rides available in the area

After waiting for 15 mins our food was finally served, we were very hungry at such time so I apologize for the poor quality photos and I totally forgot to take a snaps before digging in , I ended with half consumed food photos hahahha…..

We order the following:

Lomi --- ( traditional Filipino noddle soup)
Tocilog –-- ( Fried rice with Egg and marinated chicken meat
Fry chicken dumpling --- ( Shanghai)
Steam dumplings ---(Siomai)
Fry Noodles ----- ( Pancit)

The price is really good and the servings is more than enough for 2 persons...
we say good bye with a clean plate and smile on our faces,

this place defines comfy for families and anyone who enjoy filipino food, it's not a typical cozy, warm and fabulous set-up dine-in restaurant but when we talk about food, convenient and kids,  well this is the right place!!

good food + convenient place = HAPPY CUSTOMER!!
