Weekend Happening.... Kite Flying in Kuwait



I’m a bit free to blog so I won’t waste my time,  my kids and I super duper love going to Al-Farsi kite flying event every Friday.

The location is quite far to be honest but being there is just amazing, it’s like away from all the stressful crowd and noise in the city

WESOME STARTS NOW! LEGOLAND® DUBAI OFFICIALLY OPENS TO THE PUBLIC







Dubai, UAE: 1 November, 2016 – Awesome officially starts now as LEGOLAND® Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest integrated theme park destination, opened its gates to hundreds of guests yesterday with an unforgettable opening ceremony.

The LEGOLAND Billund Guard Marching Band kicked off celebrations, which included a choreographed dance number from the LEGOLAND® costume characters, spreading smiles across faces of excited flag-waving fans who then took part in a 10 second countdown to opening.

Siegfried Boerst, General Manager of LEGOLAND Dubai, officially opened the region’s first LEGOLAND theme park, along with Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainments and Raed Al Nuaimi, CEO of DXB Entertainments, owner of Dubai Parks and Resorts, by pushing a giant red LEGO® button, launching a pyrotechnic show and sending multi-coloured streamers into the sky before the kabuki curtain dropped, revealing the colourful theme park.



Siegfried Boerst, General Manager of LEGOLAND Dubai commented: “We are excited to celebrate this historic day with friends of LEGOLAND Dubai as we officially open the region’s first theme park aimed at families with children aged 2-12. We are committed to offering unforgettable experiences and we look forward to welcoming families from the region to experience days filled with adventure and fun.”

LEGOLAND Dubai is the ultimate world of LEGO adventures for families with children aged 2-12. It features over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions and 15,000 LEGO model structures made from over 60 million LEGO bricks.  LEGOLAND Dubai features six themed lands - LEGO CITY, ADVENTURE, KINGDOMS, IMAGINATION, FACTORY and MINILAND - each unique in their design, entertainment and playful learning experience.

LEGOLAND Dubai day tickets start at AED 250 for children and seniors and AED 295 for adults.

Majid Al Futtaim Opens First LEGO® Certified Store in Kuwait


Kuwait, 25 January 2016 - Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, has opened its first LEGO® Certified Store in Kuwait, as it continues to build on the success of the recent UAE store openings and expand its portfolio across the Middle East.



The flagship Kuwait store is located in the heart of the popular The Avenues Mall and is the largest LEGO retailer in the Middle East. Covering 336 square metres, the family favourite outlet stocks the most extensive LEGO product range available in the region. Since the store opened its doors on 26th December 2015 it has been hugely popular with shoppers, which strengthens Majid Al Futtaim’s decision to open a second store in the country, within the 360 Mall, later this year.

Art in Practice: A hands-on workshop of art applications for children


 Who can attend?
Open for children ages 8 to 11

Brief
Students will learn about artists who use abstraction to emphasize the importance of feelings and ideas, applying these ideas in a variety of ways to their own work. For the creation of their art projects students will gain exposure to the different styles of several iconic artists to draw inspiration.

The artists and styles we will explore include Salvador Dali's transformations of realistic figures, Charles Demuth's precisionist style, and Georgia O'Keeffe and Helen Frankenthaler's abstract color studies. Other projects give students a chance to abstract a face as they create a Pablo Picasso-style portrait, and paint a historical mural on Mission life in the style of Diego Rivera.

Objective
To provide an introduction of concepts, vocabulary, and skills through looking at modern artists who use abstraction to emphasize the importance of feelings and ideas; exploring concepts such as form, movement, rhythm, unity, and utilizing the knowledge in creating a variety of applied art projects.
