I just happened to renew my license last week and was really
a heartbreaking and tiring process, since, I transferred to a new company and
the mandoop did not declare my real job position
I ended going into several
offices as they blocked my license for renewal due to the designation and to note, my salary is more than the
indicated requirement and I have the college degree. (it’s a bit discriminating
if I think about it…) but after 3 days
of running and re-submission of
documents I got my license renewed.
Anyhow, I’m happy to know that driving license renewal will now
be on-line, lucky to those who are covered by this implementation. You can apply for license renewal thru this link MOI Driving License Renwal or
simply download MOI mobile app and create an account
Here goes another personal post, I’m pretty sure most of
parents with teens would truly relate to this, if not, then continue reading and
get a little something from this post.
I started to notice my teenage kids listening to music which
is of different language, I find it strange because not a single word I
understand from the entire song yet my kids are enjoying it!! they listen to this KPOP music which is musical genre that is
a mix of genres such as electronic, hip-hop, rock and R&B music and most of it is in Korean language (that’s why it’s
KPOP …) ,
At first
(With no exaggeration), I started to panic becoz how can my kids enjoy something
they don’t understand at all.. It might be a cult or something…….
But I can tell it is
really something special for them because I’ve seen their happiness just by
listening to the music, they love it so much that every time they are with their
friends and cousins, the whole topic is all about the KPOP all day..all
night !! And they are calling themselves
as ARMIES!! (Imagine they have a code for fans)
So being the stalker and curios mom, I get to work and
research about this so called Kpop and I was beyond belief how influential are
these KPOP group in this generationand
even to say, to all the generations (including
the generation which I belong….the secret generation lols). I started looking into different profiles of
these Kpop group (from EXo,
BTS,Blackpink, Shinee, nct, boyz, super junior,2ne1, twice, red velvet, many
more…..)
It appeals to me more and more knowing what kpop is all about, it’s beginning and how it
is formulated into a group (the road to become an idol/ kpop artist is not easy!!)
, it’s a long process and hard work, but what excite me the most is that, they
have this kind of cuteness and happy image where just by watching them you forget
all your worries, they look so
perfectly cute, neat and colorful, overjoyed with so much energy as they are
not just cute faces they are absolutely multi-talented and physically stunning.
Moving forward…. I now understand why my kids are really
into the KPOP,this is part of the NORMS
in this generation, adding to that, I found myself started to enjoy and liking their music, I’m not being biased but each and everykpop group has their own sets of fan base and
they are all amazing, everyone I know (including my kids) really loves BTS and
Blackpink which are currently the most hip and famous among all, but this KPOP group called EXO is amazingly great!!
They are like a perfect combo of talents from vocal, to dancing and honestly
good looking. Their music is really good
it’s a mix of old school and trendy new style with powerful vocals, (again, I’m not biased please don’t hate me
armies and blinks, I’m old school…..)
I told
my kids about it and they were very appreciative of my effort in getting to
know their idols, but actually, I have a lot of fun doing it!! I was laughing
all the way watching all Kpop videos in their funny moments and overly impressed
on every Kpop performance. And for the
first time ever, I can really relate to all my kids kpop-teen-related-
conversation….
And also, It’s really good to know, that the middle east has
welcome this KPOP ERA into their culture, of course, social medias plays an
important roles and the massive demands of live kpop performances in the world
is indeed unbelievable, imagine, Saudi Arabia as one of the very conservative
country in the GCC and in Dubai was able to held a concert that includes famous Kpop –BTS, EXO, and so on , in a very huge number of audience. That is to say, that KPOP is not just
Kpop it is a trend that makes our teens really into it and we as parents has to
be in the position where we can support our kids and hold into a certain limit. There
is always a line crossing being a fan and obsession, it is important for us
parents to know where our kids stand.
Children now a days, are very smart, confident, matured and tends
to be always into the gadgets with very less socialization, more to say that
the rate of teen suicide cases are increasing by day, so let’s be the parents that we
can be for our kids, let’s enjoy Kpop the way our kids enjoy it while we
nurtured them with everything they need to learn in life.
Balance is the key!
So till here, I still have to continue watching the EXO
concert in japan (throwback Thursday that is!!) … drop me a mesg if you feel
you need to express something from this post.
And I’ll leave you all with “who is your kpop biased?????” (
lolsss )

It was
years ago when I posted an article on coping up with being a working mom to 3
active kids, it’s somewhat tiring and fulfilling at the same time. My world
turns into this big circle of change when bath time is no longer privacy and
eating is somewhat chaotic yet enjoyable one.Our family has expanded as time goes by, and this time, I cannot believe, I’ll be starting into a phase
of looking after my teens.
I
never thought that having teens is more scarier than newly born, Every day is a
total adjustment for me, if possible I have to look into my check list on how I
can assist/support them into this new phase of their lives, from their hygiene
rituals in the morning (deodorant, toothbrush, sunblock…etc)till night, I, slowly discovered myself becoming
more and more a panic mom and a natural stalker to my kids. (lols)
Every
night, I slept with fear in my mind, they grew up so fast and I’m not prepared
for it, they started to tell me stories about crushes, about friends, future
plans and so much more, I do love listening to them even if sometimes I have to
pretend that its interesting (hahahah) and I feel that I have become lesser part of
their routine and future… or maybe, I’m just over thinking or so…. Is this
really the feeling of getting old and having teens???? It’s frustrating at times when they already conscious
about how they look and how they feel uncomfortable going into the park when it
used to be their favourite place, they now enjoy cinema, quite restaurant,
gadgets and books, all of it are just really fine and quite…. Maybe I just
missed having three active kids running around the house or giggle in enjoyment
when we plan for weekend in the park.
So,
everything is quite new to me… I’m coping and adjusting…maybe kids of this generation are very
different that my generation, when I was twelve I still enjoy playing, climbing
trees, running in the busy streetenjoying
every moment being youth which was taken away from this generation. But this
generation is very smart, matured and they really know what they want and how
to get it.
Being
a parent, a mom particularly is a lifetime study of life, changes and love. It’s
not selfish questing your role into their lives but we have to be in the place
where they can breathe and grow freely because that’s what parents are here for,
to guide, to support , to lead them into the path where they can be the best
version of themselves and loving them
unconditionally to the fullest extent.
Shout
out to all the moms out there of same situation, will get thru this!! And let’s
enjoy every moment of it!!
It’s overwhelming how time flies, I’m getting busier than
ever, but they say, we do not make “busy” as an excuse, we always make time….. And
perhaps maybe I am a bit overwhelmed with everything that is happening to me.
My career has taken me into a different twist easy to say that I dream of this
to happen but its different feeling when you already into the situation, there’s
always a line between dream and actually wanting it, but I truly believed that
God will provide what we deserved so here I am! Grateful and continuously improving
myself and looking forward to a brighter tomorrow.
How everything my dear reader??? Damn! I sincerely miss
blogging… I could only wish I can upgrade into vloging but I am still not ready to
that and of course,my line of work
requires me to maintain that kind ofserious image (lol!) so at the moment I stick to my ever loving blogging…
I can’t promise anything right now, but I am hoping I’ll commit myself to
working hard to post articles in this space every day, I know, I’ve lost so many
of you by not being active but in my heart I know blogging has taken into a unlimited space of thinking and expressing myself , "a stress-free environment
in the cyber world."
So thank you all for the visit,I won’t promise as I said, but I will do my
best to post and hold into my commitment to make wisemummy81 blog active again…
