Baking Moments!

I was checking old folders in my PC and found photos of  my baking days, don't exactly remember the year or date but seems its a long long time...! oh oh...! good times and I wanna do it again...!

this is just a space to post few of my creations, presentation is good but don’t ask me about the taste coz you might not like it!! Hahahah…..

Lol..HALF CAKE!! (nanny talk)

I have to share this…! This is not to make fun or  being rude, but I just can’t stop laughing talking to our nanny last night,

I went home late due to traffic and I was pretty hungry at that very moment, I didn’t like the food so I asked our nanny if there is anything she can serve with lesser calorie, then she walks into the kitchen and few minutes later she hand me a half burned hotcake with a butter…

I asked her with a sweet tone and smiling face:
 what is this??
Nanny: you don’t know that??, it’s half cake..
Me: half cake?? Why it is a half cake??  (starting to laugh…)
Nanny: when we go to McDonalds, you usually order half cake.. it is the same.. HALF CAKE
Me: (me laughing so hard….) it’s not a Half cake.. it’s a Half burned cake….
Nanny: what… (She laughs..!)
Me: oh sorry…! It’s Hot cake not Half cake.. shinohada!!
Nanny: ahhh HACKED Cake!!
Me: burst into tears laughing…. Can’t talk & had a painful stomach due to over laughing!! (aja!!!! )

DinnerTime is Family Time

Tonight we have ordered our all time favorite Chinese food from China lakes- salmiya branch, shrimp machunrian, Fish sweet & sour and egg rice with free noodle soup
Total dinner cost is only 5KD to be shared by family of 6 ( 3 kids + 3 adults),

We’ve been in Kuwait for the last 10 years and proud to say that from then till now we always stick to the traditional Filipino dinner set up, I as a mother, would want my kids to continue with this tradition, dinner time is a family time… it’s not about the food but the time and talks we all shared in one table, ohhhh…. By the way, The food is really great!!  so this is one simple but usual great family time!!
This is just a post to say , Have a good evening and Have a great family time!

Discipline as I define...!

Now a days, because of the massive productions of junks and instant food it is very hard to stay in shape,  I honestly one of those, who tends to  give in rather than choosing the right food  ( i confess...i'm a heavy eater, i'm not choosy and I love food! huhuhu.... )

I cannot resist food, (that is no surprise!!) but I came into realization that it takes a huge commitment to land into your goals,

Whatever it is, Diet, Grades, jobs, WHAT-E-VA you desire, it takes a lot of effort and discipline

KEYWORD is DISCIPLINE!

In losing weight there is no secret not even a recommended forms of program, because I’ve been there, tried lots of things, been in a state of depression and so on but what I have discovered is that:

1.)    If you want change, you have to start by committing yourself to it, and it’s not  an overnight commitment but a lifetime,
2.)    Perfect programs, gym, food or rituals??  Regardless of how expensive  or how many testimonials has been published, always find what suits you, find a program that would fit you right, enjoy it and live with it!
3.)    Discover yourself more and more, aim something better everyday, plan your goal with a little humor on the side and take one step at a time

Life itself is not complicated, we are the complication, we think differently, we aim the impossible and live beyond what we can provide, it’s ok to aspire but work slowly at the edge.....

Windows of Personality

I was in my  final years in high school when I got introduced to this 4 windows of personality,  I attentively listen to the speaker as he explained each of the personality, Indeed, it became sort of  my “GUIDE” be modest and sensitive on my actions and others,

Here’s an illustration of what I am referring,

it is called JOHARI windows of personality, I know many of my readers already knew about this but for the benefits of those who are new, it is like discovering “YOU” what you know about yourself,  what other’s know about you, what other’s know about you that you don’t know and what you will discover about yourself...

In a way, it helps me to analyze and observe one’s action and response in a certain situation, this is not also to say that I’m an expert but I used such tool to learneand discover more about myself and others..

There are few personalities by which I observed common to some “MODERN” people, it sometimes irritate me but most of the time I pitied them,

1. The Wrong Achiever

These are the type of people who yearn to achieve certain status not to satisfy themselves but others, they worked hard to satisfy one's happiness,  it’s very hard to intervene with this kind of people simply because they do not know that they already trap in the situation but they continue to work without question just to please somebody...

Wisemummy shout! :  it’s a good attitude to help and achieve but  you should ask yourself, till when??  Is it worth it??

2. The Social Climber

Well, it’s literal!!...  these people likes anything expensive, luxury and anything that defines glamour regardless of their actual status in society, they work hard to earn that glamour status, they seek attention to cover their unwanted reality, they love fame, they love people to envy them, they live up to the high level society even if it takes a months of  eating only a tomato on their breakfast, lunch and dinner just to buy the latest gad…

Wisemummy Shout!: I can only pray  for those who cannot see what really is the real happiness!! Richness does not define by expensive clothes nor latest gadgets.. it is by one’s satisfaction to life in long term basis….

3. The Stabbers

I have been friends with the stabbers before and I should say, it’s like a disease you’ll never know it’s already in you when you are with them, these people usually overjoyed by gossiping and judging other people, there whole life centered to what they hear and what they see, it can even lead to damage one's reputation and dignity… yet sometimes I noticed myself commenting bad things about others and I have no resistance when I am with them..

Wisemummy Shout!: yeah yeah…. Gossiping is addiction, you get to hear and speak about people either good or bad…! Betta stop it before you are the center of the gossip…!

4. The Over and wrong Confidence

Parents ..it’s ok to praise your kids but with honestly and love, I have met people who are oooooooooooozing with so much confidence,  I thought it is something he/she adapted from his collegues or friends but  as I knew them well and deep, I discover that, it comes from  their parents, PARENTS who praises their kids exaggeratedly,  that KIDS as they grew up they  install such kind of  wrong confidence in all aspect of their lives, they say, I’m very good with this and I’m basically an expert with that but they really don’t have that talent but they see themselves as great, and they don’t accept failures and wrong!!

Wisemummy Shout!: you love your kids right??! Then love them real, let them experience the reality of life, don’t feed them the wrong confidence for they will live alone in the world the evolves failures and acceptance

The thing is, we all have this blind side in our windows of personality, we don’t know but others clearly see it in us,  it sometimes hard to accept, we can always ignore what others is telling us or we can observe it quietly and slowly get into the process of change,

Change is the only constant in this world, I’m not in the right position to say that what I see in you is wrong, for we all have our sets of expectations and personalities, my point is,  if we truly love ourselves then get to know “YOU” than overlook what is over or missing in you,  to appreciate the real beauty and richness of life, it always start in YOU and how you prepare yourself and your family  in the future with the best and proper self-equipment you can install...

My Parasailing Experience

I still have the hang and the feeling of being lifted with all your heart and internal organs out,

Parasailing is one of the activities in Boracay (I don’t imagine to try), but somehow with great talks and challenge I get into the drama….

Traveling few minutes via speed boat is one of the things I enjoy prior to the parasailing, I love to play with the waves and feel the heat of the sun, and however, as we progress to our destination, I feel a little tension and stress

But, as we get into it, there is the feeling of security and excitement lingering into the back of my mind, I flew and I felt near to the clouds that looks like a bunch of white cotton candies…  I super like it!!!

i love it... love it... love it...!! ( is that enough to convince you that I love PARASAILING!! hehehe)...

Wedding details

I don’t usually give out information about personal things or details about what has been completed for my church wedding, but everyday is like listening to AM radio where all I can hear was news and crazy noise In between…

More and more of my close friends and relatives are keen to know about the plans and every little things or maybe they’re just concern as my very plan is do it myself from souvenirs to invitations,

I want it my way and I don’t care if it turns out ugly but at least I have exerted an effort convincing myself I’m creative enough to do it!.... bwahahahaha  (monster laugh)

Kidding Aside,  I only have 3 weeks to complete the invitations and souvenirs, I’m still leaving ¾ of the quantity for souvenirs and nothing has been done on the invitation part but still, i'm hoping I can pull this off according to plan

Here’s the glimpse of my souvenir and few instructions on how to do it:

Materials:

Clear box
Wooden boat
Ribbon
Confetti
Stick Glue
Thank you card

All materials can be found in Miya-miya shop in shouk salmiya and it’s just matter of putting all together in a creative way,  I enjoy doing it and I still have 50 more to assemble and complete

Wish me luck and I’ll post the designs of the invitations on my next post….

Expressing the moment...

My youngest brother finally graduated in high school and it's not an ordinary grad but an extra ordinary moment for our family,  with no exaggeration, it's feels like we have made it to heaven in a brief!

Looking back, our youngest in the family was early diagnosed with autism  during that time AUTISM is uncommon, a mysterious disease unaccepted by the society, it was hard .. really hard for us!! we were brought into an unknown path, not knowing what the future entails for my brother, yet we never give up, my mom work thru pain and sweat to understand and look for cure or perhaps something that she can hold on to accept the reality !

At the age of 4, he never had a normal childhood, he is aggressive, he never speak a word, and always on a very wild tantrums whenever he never gets what he wants and most of the time he was bullied, pushed and discriminated for something he has nothing to do,  People sometimes looked us in disgrace not knowing how hard it is for us to live in a normal way but giving up is not an option, 10 years of struggle finding our ways out in the eyes of rude society , constantly explaining our situation to people.

But today, we celebrate life, we celebrate our family, we celebrate my mom and most specially we celebrate my brother, I witnessed how every single steps from the child hated by the society into a kind, loving and most wonderful person he is today,

During his graduation, I feel to unease, struggle to curb my real emotions, holding back my tears, I still can't believed I'm witnessing this moment, the happiness I am feeling is immeasurable!!   I'm happy, proud and extremely overwhelm!!,

While he is delivering his speech,  I did not even know that that I was shedding a lot of tears my sister and mom also have the same emotions their eyes sparkles and I can only see the happiness in their tears while looking at the very person we loved and cared the most...

and I want the whole world to know how proud I am and lucky to have a brother like him,

Let's listen to his speech, and hope we can all gain something!!

Till here and wishing everyone a very lovely day

Peace Out!!

Gender Issue...!

When we speak about gender, the only options we have is either: male or female, boy or girl…

I recently read a post about our national boxing champion Manny Pacquiao on same sex marriage.. He quoted a passage from the bible saying, “Gay Men should be put to death” ,  also from Miriam Quiambao, former beauty queen turned actress on her tweet, “ Homosexually is not a sin but a lie from Devil”,
Simple acts but have become an issue, trend and a subject of argument in popular social networking sites

And so to speak,   I’m a person who respect individuality, their perspective,  the way they see things… and this is not to side or anything, I just feel that, if others made a wrong choice in life, it is their responsibility to correct it, we may sometimes feel that we have to intervene with our own set of belief in order for others to see their doings  then you are ON for a big argument!

HOMESEXUALITY is not superficial or a machine that when it’s altered from its original function,  it can be rebooted and programmed accordingly to what we want, it is a choice, a lifestyle, a decision of a lifetime….   It’s like addiction to something that we can hardly live without…

The point is, we are living in the world we do not understand it’s cycle, everyday is a change, a decision, a process, a learning, we may live and breathe the same air but at the end of the day, it is our choices, faith and what we believe makes us human ,created by our GOD or whatever is your knowledge on creation,

To Mr. Manny & Ms. Miriam I totally respect your point and your deeper understanding of the holy words of God,  being strong in what we believe is a challenge, if  Jesus suffers because of his righteous faith to save mankind then I salute your courage for doing what  you believe is right  and just….

It’s all about being human!! we seek justice, we feel pain, we seek revenge and we have the freedom to speak and so as to live our lives….

We don’t need to prove someone else theory is wrong, we just have  live  our lives the way  that makes us happy… coz that is the purpose of living HAPPINESS and RESPECT others......

yaH-cOOL.... (yakult!)-- HEALTHY ME!

When you look for sweet bottle of healthy drink, it is very easy to just walk in the alley of department store health section and find variety of healthy drinks in different brand, content and flavors, but, how do you know the product and how long it's been in the market and tested??

Since I was young ( not so... fetus of course--lols) , I'm always familiar with yakult, it's like a mandatory drink for us growing up student in school and even in pulic places such as markets and streets,  a bottled pack and samples of  this tiny healthy bottle can be found,

Now, I'm all grown up with kids of my own, it's becoming a vital part of my everyday routine and I'm sharing it with my kids.....

it's overwhelming to know that, YAKULT  is finally available in kuwait , I cannot believe how long and how far it travels just to reached where I am right now ( me &yakult are meant to be heheh) so start your healthy habits by experiencing the goodness of YAKULT

you can buy it in any Filipino Bakala all over kuwait

Here's an overview of this product:

Yakult is a fermented milk drink made by fermenting skim milk powder, water and sugar with the beneficial live probiotic strain of good bacteria Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain. Probiotics are friendly bacteria or yeasts that have been used for centuries as natural ingredients in health-promoting foods, and recent scientific studies support the many health benefits of probiotics. Today, more and more people worldwide are turning towards probiotics for healthy living. The bacteria cultures are still imported from a mother strain in Japan regardless of production location

Types of Yakult: There are two types of Yakult - Yakult Original and Yakult Light. Both contain Lactobacillus casei Shirota in equal amounts, but the Light version has less sugar. Yakult Original has a red lid. Yakult Light is the one in the blue. You can choose whichever you like.

Nutritional Facts:
  • Yakult contains no colorings. The unique color is natural caramelisation resulting from the production process.
  • There are just 48 calories in a bottle of Yakult Original. A bottle of Yakult Light contains just 27 calories.
  • The reason we include sugar is that it provides essential ‘food' for the bacteria, keeping them alive during shelf life.
  • Both Yakult Original and Yakult Light are virtually fat-free and equivalent to 0.5 Weight Watchers points.
Benefits:
  • Ideally the digestive system should contain greater amounts of friendly, beneficial bacteria in order to outnumber those that are potentially harmful.
  • Yakult helps keep the balance between the beneficial and potentially harmful bacteria living in the digestive system.
  • Each 65 ml bottle contains approximately 6.5 billion bacteria, enough to help replenish the levels of good bacteria in the digestive system.
  • It plays a vital role in protecting and maintaining the health of the whole body.
  • Yakult keep the balance between what we eat and drink
  • ltress can cause the gut to become upset. So take Yakult to get relief from daily stress and busy lifestyle
  • A number of holiday factors like dehydration, inactivity and differences in eating habits can upset the gut flora. However building up your ratio of ‘good' bacteria in the gut, by drinking a bottle of Yakult every day for a fortnight before the holiday can protect your digestive system.
  • Control the side effects from antibiotics
  • The number of beneficial bacteria within the intestines tends to fall naturally as we get older. Our immune system also gets weaker. A probiotic will help top-up the beneficial bacteria in the gut, which in turn supports your body's natural defences.
  • It helps to maintain a healthy balance of the intestinal flora, important for good digestion.
  • Yakult can be taken by both children and adults. After 12 months, the child's intestinal flora is almost identical to that of adults. Therefore, the amount of beneficial bacteria in Yakult will help to re-establish a balance of intestinal flora in children and adults alike.
Storage: Yakult must be refrigerated. If Yakult is subjected to temperatures above 4°C, the Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain become active and use the sugar to multiply and produce lactic acid. This acid causes Yakult to taste sour, which is not a true representation of the refreshing, fruity taste of Yakult. Yakult can be added to cereals, smoothies, milkshakes, cheesecakes or any other cold foods.

Family Vacation Panic....

For 7 years I was not able to visit my home country because of so many reason, and now, we finally decided to bring the whole family for vacation this august, I was very excited about it at first but as days goes by I finally felt the tension, the panic and the stress of preparation, the kids, fare tickets, expenses and so many things

And last night,  watching the news on TFC makes me want to stay in Kuwait I don’t feel like going back to Philippines because of so many negativity I have seen on tv especially the kidnapping of kids and airport thrillas, I’m scared to death thinking about it…  I’m trying to calm and keep my senses in the proper functions as I’m starting to feel a bit insane….,

For the parents out there who are traveling with kids, my advice is:

- To make a checklist of important things to be accomplished beforehand,
- Always check the residency & passport validity of each member,
- Create a list of things to pack for kids and adults
- To lessen the cost of airfare booked it in advance
but pay when it is in low season
- Be calm and think of the things that makes you happy and stay positive…

I can only hope to enjoy our family vacation and share with you our fun and photos….

Till next time...

Wisemummy :-)

Life, Family & Mom....

Had a phone chat with my good friend, an hour ago, basically, the chat is not the typical hello & good bye ….God bless…may the force be with you!!  Blas blah.. you know !  not the tupperware ,  orracan kind of bluff, ( no no no… not for us!!)  ..… But it’s a conversation of two young adult perhaps mommies!! Desperate to get an air, I describe it as fun, loud laughs, pain, hearsays and reminiscing...…   as I always quote,” I will not be who I am today if not because of my past…”
Bit sad to hear few changes/things in her life (I don’t have to share it here!! It’s too personal)  but I guess, being a mother  that she is, lead her to be tough and amazingly strong for herself & her family, indeed, I was really impress how she handle it well and how love survive distance and loneliness…..!
Two things, I’ve learned:
THE BASIC:  FAMILY & MOTHER!!...

1.)      Family is the basic unit of society; it is the foundation of who we are and what the hell is wrong with you kind of thing!!! –  “ Family “ are the very  people who knows you well, hurt you because they want you to learn, comfort you when you don’t listen,  laugh at your “ not so funny jokes “ , walks with you in circle of life and loves you  unconditionally even if you fart so loud in front of them!!    Friend’s maybe forever but Family is just everlasting!  (That’s how strong she built her family’s foundation! - there you go sis!!))

2.)    Mother is the best & hardest job in the world, it takes extensive time to appreciate their job, advises and existence, when we were young we don’t really understand their importance and the part of share they shed in our lives, we often think that they intrude so much that we almost felt like they’re living our lives, they asked nothing but appreciation , hugs & kisses that is hard for us to give

Now that I’m a MOTHER, I realize my karma is myself, and then, I knew how hard it is to be mom and how wonderful it is to be child with a mom like my MOM……
I MISS YOU MOM!
AND
Damn! Miss you SIS!  Soooo  glad to hear your super duper pathetic, craziness, extreme, loud, scary voice….!  Be strong and everything happens for a reason.. So go on...
Commit suicide wwould take all the pain away! hehehe! Joke!! But Kidding aside,
I envy your strong will to take the hardest decision in life….  I had fun and hope to see you soon!!
